We ask to have all information submitted at least 30 days before the conference. Usually for these conference, the brochures have the session titles, descriptions and speaker biographies. That's what we'll look for to approve the sessions at the district conferences.

Hi Wendy,
I’m Vincci Kwong, secretary of ILF District 1 Conference Planning Committee. From the communication between Kathy and you, our committee got some good information related to certification. However, we could like to know if there is a deadline for when to submit speaker information in order to get certification from State Library? For each speaker, what information do you want us to send in? When will we get notification on whether a specific program/speaker get certified or not? Do the State Library prefer to received the speaker information from individual speaker or you would like the committee to send them all in one single package? Thanks for answering my question and have a nice day!
Vincci.

Hi All -
I checked in with Jason Gilbert of ILF on Library Education Units for our UnConference...
And, though he brought the case to the committee that deals with LEUs in the Indiana State Library, he says that they are set against giving it the possibility of LEUs.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed - ISL is very content-driven and doesn't seem to want to budge.
I'd like for them to change with the times and consider alternate formats from a traditional conference...
In the meantime, I've been told no LEUs for our UnConference...
Regretfully,
Alison

That's really a sad news. :-(

Hi guys,
At ACPL we gave out LEUs for our unconference... I think that what The State Library is looking for is specific topics that will be discussed, for specific periods of time. They also want to see resumes or curriculum vitae for the people who are presenting. So it would be a good idea for you to do more marketing, get more people committed to giving presentations, and then have each person fill out the paperwork for the Provider approval.
I know it's a pain to jump through hoops, but I guess ya do what ya gotta do...
